Company History

Agents Insurance Markets, Inc. has been a wholesale managing general agent in Richmond, Virginia since October, 1979.  William S. Jackson, Sr. founded the agency after having been in the insurance business since 1948.  For 31 years he worked for the same company progressing through various levels of management to the position of Senior Vice President, Director of Marketing and a member of the Board of Directors.  He held this position for several years prior to taking early retirement to start Agents Insurance Markets.

William S. Jackson, Jr. joined the company in 1985.  Prior to joining the agency he spent eleven years in the banking industry in Baltimore, Maryland.  He left the bank as a Vice President in the corporate lending division of the Corporate Headquarters to go into his family’s business.

We have had continued growth each year during the history of our company.  This can be attributed to the good relations we experience with the agents we serve in the states of Virginia, North Carolina and Maryland and our friendly, dependable staff.  We have produced profitable experiences for our companies most of whom have been with us since 1979.

We look to the future as a continued time of growth.  We are working on the technological aspects of our business, which will increase our productivity and provide better service to our customers.  Service has always been and will continue to be a high priority in the mission of our company.
